Our Social Enterprise programs – Deaf Outreach and Interpreting Services, Food Services for Seniors and FreshConnections – provide essential services to some of our regions’ most vulnerable people.


Deaf Outreach and Interpreting Services

Our Sign Language Interpreting Services is the lead provider of sign language interpreting, and our Community Services for the Deaf and Their Families provides statewide services of case management, information and referrals, and independent living skills for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.

Food Services for Seniors

Food Services provides nutritious home delivered meals to low-income homebound elderly and disabled people in the greater New Haven area. In addition to addressing the nutritional needs of the homebound elderly and disabled, LifeBridge also operates 20 senior community cafes in senior centers and subsidized housing projects. Our “Senior Dine” program provides a progressive alternative to dining at traditional congregate cafes by offering subsidized meals at local area restaurants.

This June, LifeBridge launched a new social enterprise to provide affordable, fresh fruit and vegetables in food dessert areas where many of Bridgeport’s poorest people live. The fresh produce will be purchased in bulk, packaged into pre-ordered boxes and delivered to conveniently located distribution centers in low-income neighborhoods. Participants will also receive comprehensive social services drawn from our extensive behavioral health, economic empowerment and social enterprise programs.
