Volunteers are an important and valued extension of the LifeBridge Community Services (LifeBridge) staff and perform a wide variety of work essential to the Agency. Volunteers serve as LifeBridge ambassadors and partner with us to provide services to our clients.

There are many ways you can make a difference in your community; we are always looking for people with various backgrounds, talents, and skill levels and we offer both long- and short-term opportunities. Group and Corporate Volunteer Opportunities

Court Mandated Community Service

LifeBridge accepts applications from individuals with at least 40 hours or more of court mandated community service. In order to process your application, we need a copy of the paperwork from your court or your attorney stating the charges for which you are completing mandated service and the total number of hours required. We will also need to contact at least three references and will run a complete background clearance. We will review your charges and completed application to determine if you are a good match to complete your mandated hours at LifeBridge.

Applications MUST be completed in their entirety. A non-refundable $20 fee is required when you turn in your application. Fee payable in cash or money order made out to LifeBridge only—no checks. If an out of state clearance is required to process your application for mandated service, you will be asked to cover the cost of those additional clearances. If the application is not filled out entirely, we will call you and have you complete any missing info.

When you bring a copy of the paperwork from the court, it must say how many hours are needed to be completed and what the charges are. If the paperwork doesn’t list these two items, we will call you and ask to obtain a copy that does. The receptionist cannot make copies of this paperwork, so if you want a copy for your own records, please make one for yourself before dropping off your application. Speakers Bureau

Guest speakers are needed in several different program areas to present information on a variety of topics including purchasing insurance, personal and investment banking, starting a business, conducting a job search, opening a bank account, understanding your credit score, and more. If you have a specialized knowledge in any of these areas, contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@LifeBridgeCT.org or 203-368-5582 to discuss making a presentation to our clients.
